The School of Nursing and Midwifery is offering a funded full-time scholarship for entry into the PhD programme.
A 3 year Postgraduate Research Studentship is available to new entrants as well as continuing students on the full-time PhD register for entry in September 2021 or March 2022.
Applicants must have received a minimum of 2.1 Honours degree to be eligible for the award.
The postgraduate studentship aims to support and develop gifted research students and is awarded competitively on academic merit. It fully covers EU or non-EU fees and provides an annual maintenance of €6,500.
The holder of a postgraduate studentship is required to engage in teaching-related activities, as advised by the appropriate Director of Teaching and Learning (Postgraduate) or by his/her nominee, to a maximum of 6 hours per week in teaching term. A maximum annual income level of €18,000 excluding fees, but including the studentship maintenance, is permitted. The receipt of any additional funding must be notified immediately to the Graduate Studies Office and the Staff Office payroll. Postgraduate studentships cannot continue beyond the fourth year on the PhD register.
Prospective students are advised that they need to contact and work with the member of staff in the School of Nursing and Midwifery to develop their proposal to a level suitable for application.
