A Different Kind of Voice: The EOLAS Participatory Photography Project

26th February 2019 saw the launch of the EOLAS Participatory Photography Project, with training facilitated by Photovoice (www.photovoice.org). The Project is funded under the Health Research Board (HRB) of Ireland's Knowledge, Education and Dissemination Scheme (KEDS) Award.  Pictured with project participants are Jennifer Barry and Mark Monahan (project researchers).  The EOLAS Participatory Photography Project sets out to capture in pictures service user and family facilitators' experience of the EOLAS education programme.  Over the course of the next few  months, participants aim to produce images that illustrate the meaning and impact that the EOLAS programme has on their lives. The images will be part of a travelling exhibition, which will tour the country raising awareness about the programme and its impact.

EOLAS is a co-produced, co-facilitated education programme that aims to engage service users and their families in understanding the recovery journey following a diagnosis of severe mental health problems (www.eolasproject.ie).  The EOLAS KEDS team includes Prof Agnes Higgins (PI), Dr Mark Monahan, Dr Louise Doyle, Dr Rebecca Murphy, Jennifer Barry,  Dr David Hevey and Dr Patrick Gibbons.
