2017 International Undergraduate Awards

We are delighted to announce that the following students have been Highly Commended in the Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Healthcare category of  the 2017 International Undergraduate Awards Programme: 

Molly Featherstone (Children’s and General Nursing)  for her submission: Family-Centred Care in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit:  A Review of the Literature, supervised by Professor Maria Brenner;

Arnita Ismaili  (General Nursing) for her submission: Practices that Prevent the Development of Pressure Ulcers in the Acute Hospital Setting: A Literature Review, supervised by Associate Professor Sylvia Huntley-Moore;

Laura Killeen (Midwifery) for her submission:  What is the Role of the Midwife in Supporting Women and their Partners Undergoing Termination of Pregnancy for Fetal Abnormality?, supervised by Dr Louise Gallagher;

Jennifer Whelan (General Nursing)  for her submission: Nurses' Perspectives of End of Life Care in the Emergency Department: A Literature Review supervised by Associate Professor Sylvia Huntley-Moore.

Submissions to The Undergraduate Awards are assessed by an international  panel of experts. This year, 6,432 submissions from students in 299 Institutions across 47 countries were received. As Highly Commended entrants  our students’  work ranks in the top 10% of all submissions to Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Healthcare.  All four students are still in contention to be the Global Winner of this category, which will be announced on September 19th.  We congratulate them on their success so far and send them our best wishes for the remainder of the competition.
