Summer/Winter School International Student Programme
Here in the clinical skills centre we facilitate a one day clinical skills programme for students attending the International Programme to prepare students for their experience on the practice sites.
The various clinical skills sessions which are facilitated over the day includes:
- Hand Hygiene & Infection Control
- Moving & Handling Techniques
- Techniques for working with the older person
Short presentations from the clinical nurse tutors on:
- Children's nursing skills
- General nursing skills and Early Warning Score overview
- Mental Health – Psychotherapy Skills
- Intellectual Disability nursing skills
This programme will give an opportunity for students to look around the clinical skills area, meet other students and see the clinical skills equipment. It also allows the student to ask lots of questions on how clinical skills in nursing are delivered and taught across all disciplines of nursing and midwifery at both undergrad and post graduate level in Ireland.
