The M. Sc. / P.Grad. Dip. in Specialist Nursing - Emergency Department is designed to provide the student with the appropriate level of knowledge, clinical expertise and technical skills necessary to function as a competent, effective and caring practitioner. There is a strong commitment to research based practice, and a focus on the development and integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical experience.

- NU7563 Management of Surgical Emergencies and Trauma Nursing
- NU7564 Supervised Practice Placement (ED)
- NU7013 Theory & Practice of Enquiry Methods for Healthcare
- NU7011 Leadership & Quality Improvement in Healthcare
Clinical Placements and Student Support
Each student will receive a planned clinical placement timetable for the duration of the course. During the course educational and clinical facilitators will offer personal and professional support to each student.
Each module will be assessed by the successful completion of an academic assignment. The assessment of clinical competence will focus on the acquisition of specialist competencies and the clinical assessments will be carried out throughout the clinical placements.
All applicants whose first language is not English and who have not been educated through the medium of English must present one of the following qualifications in the English language:
